About Nat

Nat Gibson writes 100% human-created books that help children navigate life’s challenging moments through imagination, humor, and heart. Whether she’s helping young readers make sense of dyslexia, a medical procedure, or another unfamiliar experience, Nat transforms scary, confusing, or overwhelming situations into wildly imaginative adventures. By meeting children where their imaginations already live, her stories help the unknown feel more understandable -- and a lot less scary. Her goal is to help kids feel informed, supported, and confident enough to face whatever comes next.

She is the creator of The Tooth-o-saurus, Reading Shmeading Stinkin’ Reading, and the Surgery Books for Kids series.

Nat lives in California with her family, one very sweet dog, and four wildly opinionated chickens: Eggatha Christie, Chick Jagger, Yolko Ono, and Hennifer. The chickens firmly believe they deserve co-author credit.
